Pattern Giveaway

It's been a while since I posted on my poor lil neglected blog, but I'm back and hoping to get back in the swing of things!
I was cruising my fav facebook pages this morning and came across a giveaway that I could not resist...
Dandy Giveaway is giving away not one, but SIX Jocole patterns!
I love the wide variety Jocole has to offer, most of their patterns are for children from NB to size 14 (awesome size ranging!) and there are a couple women's patterns.  They even have a pattern for briefts!  Seriously something for everyone!!!  My fav's are the Sandcastle Halter and the ruffled leggings.
If you can't wait to see if you are the lucky winner of these patterns, there is a code for 25% off your pattern purchase - just enter the code "dandy" at
Happy Sewing!

The Fastest Man in the Cemetery

There is just something about little boys that make you want to bottle up their zest, curiosity, mischievousness  and innocence and keep it there forever.  My little (and only) guy is turning 4 in a few weeks (Valentine's Day baby!) and he is just the sweetest and funniest kid I know.    Not too long ago, he got up early and made his way into our bedroom and climbed into bed with us, waking both myself and Mr. Undomestic up and this is the conversation that followed:

Mr. Undomestic - "L, go back to your own bed"
L - "I can't!"
Mr. Undomestic - "Why can't you?"
L - "Because I love Mom!"   (awwwww, told  you he was sweet)
Mr. Undomestic -   "Take her with you then!"  (apparently L didn't get his sweetness from him!)

Today was preschool day for L.  As we were leaving, L was running down the hallway ahead of me.  Just as he catches up to another Mom with her preschooler and a teacher at the school, he says "I'm the fastest man in the cemetery!" and then kept running on.  Pretty deep for a not-quite-four-year-old, don't you think?

Cold + Snow = Productivity!

So winter finally decided to show both sides of her face finally.  We had a beautiful snow fall/storm last night.  You know, the kind with big, white, fluffy flakes that make you want to go and catch some on your tongue?  She followed up today with the bitter cold temperatures.  As I write, it is -25 celsius, and feels like -36 with the wind.  Brrrrrrrrrr!  Not feeling like venturing out much, my husband and I tackled projects around the home, mainly my sewing/crafting/guest room.  He hung up some shelves and other things for me, and I supervised.  (I also organized my fabrics, notions, books and patterns, so you could call me a multi-tasker)  I am sew excited (ya, cheesy pun) to have my own space, I used to have my stuff scattered all over the kitchen table and dining area and spent more time unpacking and packing it up than I did actually sewing.  There is still a lot I would like to add to the room, but for now, it is functional and I can get sewing again.  Now, I just need to pick a project!

Happy New Year!

New year and starting a new (my first ever) blog!
I have some goals for the new year and I am hoping that making them 'public' will help to keep me motivated!
I want this year to be a healthy one for myself and my family, so we are going to be more active and more aware of our food choices.  Along with that, will come more cooking and meal planning for me (yikes!)
I want to be able to sew and craft more and maintain that connection with my creative side.  I want my kids to get in there and get crafty too.  I see a many trips to Michael's in the coming months!
I want to get more organized this year.  (I mean who doesn't?)  I purchased Organize Now! by Jennifer Ford Berry and this just may be the key!  (fingers crossed)
Most of all, I want to make memories and cherish every moment with my loved ones!
What are your goals this year?
Happy New Year All!
